With rumors swirling around a new iPhone being announced in the coming weeks, the impending release of Palm’s highly anticipated Pre, and a new Android phone coming to T-Mobile, HTC does not want to be left out of the party. HTC, one of the largest manufacturers of smartphones and the maker of the gPhone has a press event scheduled for the end of the month.
Based on the announcement we suspect the event will be for a new Plaid based phone. Industry insiders are referring to this device as the pPhone. The pPhone features a 4 inch screen, full keyboard, 128 gb of memory, HSDPA, GPS, and an accelerometer. What sets the pPhone apart from the rest of herd is that it does not actually make calls, browse the web or even give directions. The pPhone is strictly for viewing plaid. Industry insiders are already touting this as the greatest phone ever made.
Rick Thompson of the Cell Phone Insider says “The Plaid Phone is a monumental release. Finally we are free of the constrictions of modern communication and can focus on what is most important in a phone; the ability to view photos of plaid.”
Keep checking back for more on the pPhone and to find out it’s release date. Insider analysts expect the pPhone to be released in the 3rd week of February 2010 to coincide with Plaid Week 2010.
